REALLY LOVELY COMEDY AT THE EDINBURGH FRINGE!

Really Lovely Comedy is very excited to announce it will be producing two stand up comedy shows at the Edinburgh Fringe this year. Both venues are right off the Royal Mile, and we’d love to see you there.

Sex and Hugs and Forward Rolls

Celebrating life’s small pleasures and petty victories and categorising its disappointments is this hour of fresh, irreverent stand-up comedy on the Five Pound Fringe. One of Spoonfed.co.uk’s 2010 acts to watch, James Acaster is a rapidly-rising, hugely likeable performer. ‘I could watch him forever’ (Josie Long). Radio 4 comic playwright Andrew Doyle’s cerebral bitchiness and ‘excellent one-liners’ (Times) have seen him support Scott Capurro at the Leicester Square Theatre. Whipsharp Ben Van der Velde is the mischievous compere of Really Lovely Comedy’s clubs where he ‘creates a buzz of excitement’ (Chortle.co.uk). Warning: show may not contain forward rolls.
Downstairs at The Tron 9 Hunter Square, Edinburgh, EH1 1QW

14.20-15.20

Is the glass half full or half empty? The world contains joy, love and kittens but also war, pestilence and Piers Morgan. Which side prevails? Two men put forward their cases to determine the definitive answer. Ben Van der Velde is resident MC for the Time Out Critics’ Choice Really Lovely Comedy Clubs. ‘Highly promising’ (Time Out London). ‘Whipsharp … an air of mischievous mayhem’ (Chortle.co.uk).
Cabaret Voltaire 36 Blair Street, EH1 1QR
Dates 7-28 August
Time 13:30-14.30

Really Lovely Comedy’s July Round Up!

July’s Really Lovely Comedy Show

We laughed at; Abandoman, James Acaster, Josh Widdicombe, Jessica Fostekew and Ben Van der Velde
We ate; the Betsey’s lovely burgers. And a lot of ice.
We met; Tim the giant/wannabe architect, Caroline the cheerful charity fundraiser and some nice French marketing people.
We listened to; Bill Withers, Lady Gaga, M.I.A.
We loved; Abandoman’s new vocal tricks, James Acaster bravely facing off with the recalcitrant mic-stand.

Next Really Lovely Comedy Show and Really Lovely Comedy Tea Party are in September. See you there…
