Really Lovely Comedy in Brighton!

We’re delighted to announce we will be producing one show at The Brighton Fringe Festival in 2010.

SEX AND HUGS AND FORWARD ROLLS
featuring James Acaster, Andrew Doyle and Ben Van der Velde

on the 14th, 15th, 21st, 22nd May 2010
£4/£3 concs.
at Laughing Horse @ The Temple, The Temple, 121 Western Road
Go to www.brightonfestivalfringe.org.uk for tickets and info.

Celebrating life’s small pleasures and petty victories and categorising its
disappointments is this hour of fresh, irreverent stand-up.
One of Spoonfed.co.uk’s 2010 ‘acts to watch’, James Acaster is a
rapidly-rising, hugely likeable performer. ‘I could watch him forever’ (Josie Long).
Radio 4 comic playwright Andrew Doyle’s cerebral bitchiness and ‘excellent oneliners’
(The Times)
have seen him support Scott Capurro at the Leicester
Square Theatre. ‘Whipsharp’ Ben Van der Velde is the mischievous compere of
Really Lovely Comedy’s clubs where he ‘creates a buzz of excitement’
(Chortle).
Warning: show may not contain forward rolls.

Really Lovely Comedy’s May Round Up!

May’s Really Lovely Comedy Tea Party.

We laughed at; Tony Law, John Luke Roberts, Daniel Simonsen, WitTank, Nish Kumar, Ben Van der Velde and James Acaster, who dropped in for a flying visit.
We ate; Vanilla and chocolate cupcakes, and for the indecisive vanilla cupcakes with chocolate icing.
We met; some lovely backpackers from Singapore who made Ben’s day by producing chewing gum midway through the second half, plus a delightful lady called Diane who came to see the show based mostly on Beth’s leopard print coat matching hers.
We listened to; Ella Fitzgerald, ROX, Louis Armstrong and Beth repeatedly fishing for compliments on her tea cup-shaped ring.
We loved; seeing so many returning guests, Tony Law discovering an imaginary tugboat behind the stage and our friends from Singapore spending their limited time in London with us.

We are taking a Tea (Party) Break over the summer due to the World Cup and Really Lovely’s upcoming Edinburgh Fringe adventures, but we will return on September 10th…

May’s Really Lovely Comedy Show

We laughed at; Pappy’s, Naz Osmanoglu, Andrew Bird, Grainne Maguire, Nathaniel Metcalfe, Matt Thomas and Ben Van der Velde
We ate; The Social’s pie and mash.
We met; Liam, who makes up stories about bees and Rachel, the world’s most enthusiastic and happy audience member. We had to give her the prize of sweets to calm her down a bit.
We listened to; Ellie Goulding, Sly and The Family Stone, Goldfrapp.
We loved; being joined by Anna who had been at Sunday’s Tea Party; Pappy’s brilliant Old Louie sketch; Andrew Bird dropping in unexpectedly to treat us to his set ahead of his Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow Showcase Audition

Next Really Lovely Comedy Show; June 9th, with Seann Walsh. We can’t wait.
